Having done several internships in various fields of communication (marketing for Hotlink Maxis, account servicing at Euro RSCG, PR in Estee Lauder), Caryl has finally settled happily into the Planning department at Ogilvy and Mather KL after a 4-month internship. August 2010 marks her 3rd year in Planning. She has since worked on a variety of accounts; Guinness, Heineken, Dumex, DHL, Fitness First and the 4As, setting strategic direction and championing consumer insights.
Caryl enjoys spotting and studying trends and understanding what makes people tick, especially in the area of digital. Some of her achievements are spearheading ‘The Transitory World of Gen C Teens’, a teen research piece that has uncovered a new, untapped world for teenagers, winning several awards in Ogilvy’s Hot House Training Program (‘Best Presenter’, ‘Best Creative’, ‘Best Strategy’ and ‘Best Overall Campaign’), and playing a key role in a number of innovative campaigns for Guinness and Heineken.
She studied Business Management in the University of Nottingham UK and also held the post of Social Secretary for the Nottingham Malaysian Society. After being subjected to eating shepherds pie and UK’s unpredictable weather for 5 years, Caryl is happy to be back in KL. In her free time, Caryl loves to travel, sing (bring on the karoake!), eat, watch movies and people who can make her laugh.
